Governor inaugurates Library, distributes laptops among students in Nasirabad

QUETTA: Governor Balochistan Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar on Wednesday said that the provincial government was taking practical measures to improve the quality of education in remote areas of Balochistan.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony of the inaugural library.

Earlier, the Governor also formally inaugurated the central library in the premises of the new campus of Lasbela University and distributed laptops among students including female and male during his official visit of Dera Murad Jamal area of Nasirabad division.

Besides, he inspected other buildings under construction. The purpose of the Governor’s visit was to gain awareness of the objective conditions of Dera Murad Jamali and surrounding areas, measures taken for the promotion of higher education and public problems and difficulties.

On the occasion of the visit, Vice Chancellor Lasbela University Dr Dost Muhammad Baloch, former members of the Provincial Assembly Muhammad Khan Lehri, Babu Amin Imrani, Principal Secretary to Governor Balochistan Hashim Khan Ghalzai, Deputy Commissioner and other district administration officers were present.

Later, while addressing the participants of the event organized regarding the distribution of laptops on the premises of the University of Lasbela campus, Governor Balochistan Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar said that our youth were full of talent, and it was necessary to provide them with necessary facilities and opportunities, the world was changing its curves very fast.

In such a case, if we do not take the nails of consciousness and do not enlighten the minds of our children with the modern scientific education of the world, remember that we will leave the race of competition very soon, he said.

He said that after traveling by road from the provincial capital Quetta to Dera Murad Jamali and seeing the situation of the remote and backward areas here, it is not felt that some development works have been done here in the last twenty years.

It is very sad to see the lack of basic facilities in Dera Murad Jamali and its adjoining areas, the dilapidated condition of the roads, poor sanitation and especially the difficult life of women, he mentioned.

Governor Balochistan said that it was the national duty of every intelligent person not only to hold the former public representatives accountable but also to give their valuable votes to people-friendly people without prejudice and hatred in the upcoming elections.

He said that visiting the remote areas and directly talking to the people would help in highlighting the public problems and conveying them to the relevant authorities and solving them.

Governor said that we believed in the observance of the rights and powers of the people saying that as the constitutional head of the province, he could place all the urgent issues facing you before both the federal and provincial governments.
