Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam has said that Pakistan would highlight its climate actions, challenges including smog at COP29, the upcoming UN climate change conference in Azerbaijan.
This COP29 would be a part of a broader strategy to collaborate with international partners and strengthen its position on crucial climate matters, she said while talking on a private news channel.
By working together, governments, regions, cities, businesses, and individuals can share knowledge, resources, and expertise to address the complex challenges posed by climate change, she added.
Pakistan’s efforts to combat climate change are commendable, yet there is a need to intensify more initiatives to effectively meet these challenges.
Responding to a query, Romina vowed that Pakistan’s climate fragility and resilience strategies would prominently be showcased at COP-29.
Romina also emphasized the importance of collective efforts in addressing climate change, urging media, yo
uth, and NGOs to partner with the government to raise awareness about this critical issue.
This collaborative approach is crucial in promoting climate justice and empowering communities to take action, she concluded.
