Peshawar:Health professionals have stressed the importance of physiotherapy in pain management, restoring mobility and improving patients’ quality of life at a National Wellness Conference and free medical and therapy camp organized by Mansoor Therapy in Mardan.
The conference aimed to raise public awareness about physical health, modern treatment methods and rehabilitation services, bringing together healthcare professionals, physiotherapists, psychologists and representatives of different sectors.
Zahir Shah, Group Leader of the Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, inaugurated the event, while Ayesha Durrani, President of the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mardan Division, and Inam Saraf attended as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, physiotherapists Dr Waleed Khan, Dr Haseeb Afridi, Dr Mansoor Ahmad and Dr Salman Raza highlighted the role of physiotherapy in managing back and neck pain, joint stiffness, muscle weakness, sports injuries and movement difficulties resulting from accidents and other medical conditions.
They said timely treatment under the supervision of qualified professionals could help patients regain mobility, strengthen muscles and return to their routine activities.
They added that physiotherapy also helped improve physical balance, independence and overall well-being.
The experts stressed that treatment should be tailored to individual medical needs and advised people experiencing persistent pain or movement difficulties to seek professional medical advice instead of relying on self-treatment.
Psychologists Huma Kanwal, Huma Atta, Rida Shaukat and Saima Liaquat highlighted the importance of mental health alongside physical fitness.
They emphasized that a healthy lifestyle, timely guidance and consultation with qualified professionals were essential for overall well-being.
Participants described the free medical and therapy camp as a valuable public service, saying such initiatives helped people understand their health conditions and learn about appropriate treatment and rehabilitation options.
At the conclusion of the conference, Ayesha Durrani, Inam Saraf and former Nazim Adil Khan distributed shields and certificates among participants.
The participants appreciated Mansoor Therapy for organizing the event and expressed hope that similar initiatives would continue to promote health awareness and improve public access to professional guidance on treatment and rehabilitation.
