Hyderabad: On the special directives of SSP Hyderabad, Market Police carried out an operation under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code imposed by the district administration and took action against kite flying, recovering a large quantity of kites and kite strings.
According to a police spokesperson, acting on a tip-off, Market Police conducted a raid near Meeran School in the Hirabad area, where a man was standing while waiting for transport with kite-flying material.
The suspect identified as Raees, a resident of Afandi Town, owns a shop located at Qila Chowk. On reaching the police, he managed to flee the scene, leaving the material behind.
During the operation, police recovered nine cartons containing 9,900 kites and three plastic bags filled with chemically treated thread (manjha) used for kite strings.
A case has been registered against the absconding suspect under FIR No. 12/2026 under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code for violation of Section 144, and efforts are underway to arrest him.
