Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court on Monday directed the lawyers representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs Adil Bazai and Dawar Kundi to remove the Registrar Office’s objections to their petitions challenging their detention under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance.
Justice Khadim Hussain Somroo heard the petitions against the detention of the two PTI lawmakers along with the objections raised by the Registrar Office.
The court directed the petitioners’ counsel to remove the objections, saying that the matter would be fixed for hearing after two days.
Petitioner’s counsel Murtaza Turi told the court that the two lawmakers had been detained for 15 days and eight days of their detention period had already elapsed. He requested that the petitions be fixed for hearing the following day.
It may be mentioned that the PTI lawmakers were arrested under Section 3 of the MPO on September 20.
