Multan: The district administration on Friday demolished illegal permanent structures built on graveyard land along Nishtar Road during an operation against encroachments.
The operation was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem and led by Assistant Commissioner City Mukarram Sultan. The administration demolished illegal structures established on the graveyard land and confiscated construction material during the operation.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem said encroachments on graveyards, government land and public passageways would not be tolerated. He said removal of encroachments was a priority for improving the city’s appearance and protecting public land.
He directed the authorities to continue strict action against encroachers and said no pressure would be accepted in operations against illegal occupation.
