PESHAWAR:Pakistan Muslim League-N KP spokesman Ikhtiar Wali Khan here Tuesday demanded former Prime Minister Imran Khan to immediately resign from office of the chairman of Pakistan Tahrik e Insaf after his party was found guilty of receiving huge foreign funds from prohibited sources.
He was addressing a charged gathering of local government mayors, chairmen and nazims of KP protesting against the PTI government for reducing their powers and funds here in front of the provincial assembly.
Ikhtiar Wali Khan said the verdict of Election Commission had testified that PTI received huge funds from foreign countries through prohibited sources, which were in a complete violation of the constitution. He said PTI chairman Imran Khan stood exposed before masses after unanimous judgment of ECP.
Ikhtair said PTI leadership had delayed proceeding of ECP for nearly eight years as they had no solid evidence to present in their favour. Declaring Imran Khan as king of U-turns, he said PTI leadership had leveled baseless allegations against the Chief Election Commissioner as they knew about their ill-practices in the high profile foreign funding case.
Wali said, on the one hand Imran was trumpeting his false propaganda of the so-called ‘foreign conspiracy’ after his ouster form PM Office on a successful non confidence motion and on the other hand received huge funds from his foreign masters for political gains.
“How Imran would protect peoples’ interests when his party had received huge foreign funds through illegal means,” he said, adding PTI Chief couldn’t deceive masses any more through shallow slogans.
He said reducing powers and funds of LG representatives was a complete negation of PTI Chairman’s promises regarding shifting of powers to the grass-root level.
Awami National Party’s parliamentary leader, Sardar Hussain Babak and others demanded from KP Government to restore powers and funds of the LG representatives. Later, the protesters disbursed peacefully.
