Muzaffargarh: The Superintendent of District Jail Muzaffargarh has suspended warder Muhammad Imran for 90 days after a case of electricity theft was registered against him,jail sources said on Saturday.
According to the sources,departmental action was initiated after case No. 802/26 was registered against the warder at City Police Station, Muzaffargarh.
Proceedings against him have also been initiated under the Punjab Employees Efficiency,Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act following registration of the case which includes charges of electricity theft and allegedly assaulting members of a MEPCO checking team.
Earlier,a MEPCO checking team detected electricity theft at the warder’s residence in Mohalla Qaimwala, Muzaffargarh city.
The sources said Imran,along with two accomplices,allegedly manhandled and assaulted members of the checking team.
A case was registered at City Police Station against Imran and his accomplices on the complaint of MEPCO SDO Akram Khan Gopang.
