Lahore: A jail trial continued on Monday in six cases related to the May 9 incidents, including the Askari Tower attack and the Shadman police station arson case.
During the hearing held at Kot Lakhpat Jail, 11 new prosecution witnesses recorded their statements against the accused, while cross-examination of eight previously recorded statements was completed.
Defence counsel Mian Ali Ashfaq and other lawyers conducted the cross-examination of the earlier witnesses.
Anti-Terrorism Court’s Administrative Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the proceedings which continued until 5: 30 PM.
In the Askari Tower attack case, three witnesses recorded their testimonies, while in cases related to the torching of police vehicles near Mughalpura, Zaman Park, and Jinnah House, eight witnesses testified.
The court marked the attendance of all under-custody and bailed accused, during the proceedings.
The court adjourned hearings in the Shadman police station arson and one other case until tomorrow, while proceedings in the Askari Tower attack and other cases were adjourned until July 21.
