Kohat: Kohat Police have traced a blind murder case and arrested a suspect allegedly involved in the killing of a resident of Badhber, police sources said on Saturday.
According to police, Rahad, son of Shahid and a resident of Badhber, was shot dead by an unidentified assailant on August 15, 2026. A case was registered at Bilitang Police Station, and an investigation was launched to trace and arrest those involved in the killing.
Acting on the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, SHO Bilitang Police Station Muhammad Ayaz and his team pursued the case using modern investigative techniques and available evidence. During the investigation, police traced and arrested the alleged suspect, Fareed alias Naveed, a resident of Jerma.
Police said the arrested suspect was handed over to the investigation staff for further questioning and completion of legal proceedings.
In a separate action, ASI Ilyas Khan, in-charge of Shadi Pur Police Post, along with a police team, arrested an armed suspect during routine patrolling. Police recovered a Kalashnikov from his possession and registered a case against him. Further investigation is underway.
