KP govt not focusing on public issues: Aqeel Malik

Islamabad

Islamabad: Minister of State for Law and Justice, Barrister Aqeel Malik, on Wednesday expressed concerns over public safety in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government.

Speaking to a private television channel, Minister of State alleged that the PTI-led government was not paying sufficient attention to public issues and was failing to take effective action against extremists, resulting in an increase in attacks and putting the lives of citizens at greater risk.

He added that the KP government was also not cooperating with the federal government on several matters, including those related to the law and order situation.

The minister highlighted several constitutional options for addressing governance-related issues, saying such measures could help protect the welfare of the public.
