Abbottabad: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has launched its Computer-Based Testing (CBT) system in collaboration with the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA), marking a shift from conventional paper-based examinations to digital testing.
The first computer-based tests under the new system commenced here on Thursday at the KPPSC IT Lab.
Tests for the posts of Senior Instructor (Criminology) and Law Officer are being conducted today, while examinations for Mobile Application Developer and Network Administrator will be held on (Friday) September 25.
According to the KPPSC, the new system is aimed at making public-sector recruitment examinations more efficient, transparent and secure.
The computer-based testing mechanism is expected to accelerate the compilation of results and reduce the administrative workload associated with paper-based examinations and manual processing.
The initiative will also reduce the use of printed question papers, answer sheets and other examination material, thereby helping lower expenditure on printing, stationery, transportation, storage and related arrangements.
The digital system is further aimed at strengthening examination security and minimising the possibility of unfair means by providing greater control over the testing process and reducing human handling of examination material.
The KPPSC said the transition to computer-based testing represents an institutional reform aimed at improving the efficiency, transparency, security and reliability of the public-sector recruitment process.
The launch marks a new phase in the Commission’s efforts to modernise competitive examinations and establish faster and more reliable recruitment processes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
