Karachi: The Department of Computer Science of the University of Karachi organized Career Connect 2025 on Thursday at the department’s green lawn.
This flagship event served as a prominent platform for career development and for strengthening ties between academia and industry, to connect students to the professional world and align them with the demands of the modern job market.
More than 25 renowned companies from the fields of IT, software development, and technology participated in the event.
These companies provided students with valuable opportunities for networking, career guidance, internships, employment prospects, and insights into the evolving job market.
The Member of National Assembly Farhan Chishti, Chairman of Red Crescent Sindh Muhammad Rehan Hashmi, and other distinguished guests attended the Career Connect 2025, including faculty members from various departments of the KU, students, and prominent industry experts.
Both honorable guests visited the company stalls and emphasized that such initiatives are the need of the hour, declaring them essential for aligning educational institutions with market requirements.
Speaking on the occasion, KU’s Chairman of the Department of Computer Science Dr Sadiq Ali Khan highlighted that Career Connect 2025 marks a significant milestone in strengthening academia-industry linkages at the University of Karachi.
He stated that bringing together over 25 companies and hundreds of talented students on a single platform has opened new doors for internships, jobs, and future collaborations. He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to regularly organizing such platforms for the mutual benefit of students and industry.
The event was organized by Dr Sadiq Ali Khan, with the organizing team comprising Dr Syed Muhammad Khalid and Dr Humera. Career Connect 2025 featured company booths, interactive sessions, resume reviews, on-the-spot interviews, and expert lectures.
These sessions shed light on emerging technologies, career opportunities in IT and computer science, and industry expectations from fresh graduates.
