Lahore: Lahore’s weather remained extremely cold on Monday, with the temperature dropping to 7 degrees Celsius, intensifying the chill across the city.
According to the Meteorological Department, the severity of the cold is expected to increase further in the coming days, while a slight change in weather conditions is likely after about a week. Officials said winds in the city were blowing at a speed of 3 kilometres per hour, while humidity levels in the air stood at 72 percent, adding to the feeling of cold.
A severe cold wave has gripped large parts of the country, including Lahore, forcing citizens to remain indoors and disrupting routine activities. Meanwhile, extremely low temperatures were recorded in northern regions, with the mercury in Skardu plunging to minus 14 degrees Celsius. In the Leh Valley of Azad Kashmir, the temperature fell to minus 13 degrees Celsius, while Astur recorded minus 11 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has also forecast light rain and snowfall in Gilgit-Baltistan and adjoining areas, which may further intensify the cold conditions in the region during the coming days.
