Lahore: Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman chaired the 39th meeting of Cabinet Standing Committee on Legislative Business and Privatization here at Darbar Hall, Punjab Civil Secretariat on Wednesday.
Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Sohaib Ahmed Bharth, secretaries and senior officers of relevant departments attended the meeting.
The meeting considered a 12-point agenda covering various legal, administrative and development-related matters. The agenda included the reconstitution of Implementation Committees for Katchi Abadis and nomination of local representatives; financial matters relating to the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Programme; extension of the stipulated period for establishment and expansion of cement plants; and approval of the draft Punjab Women Hostels Authority Rules 2026 under the Punjab Women Hostels Authority Act, 2023.
The committee approved seven out of the 12 agenda items and stressed the need to ensure complete transparency in development projects and fulfilment of all legal requirements.
Addressing the meeting, Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Programme is a flagship initiative of Punjab Government under which millions of households are benefiting. He directed that financial matters related to the programme should be managed and taken forward in an organized and effective manner to ensure its successful implementation.
