KARACHI: The Provincial Election Commissioner of Sindh Eijaz Anwar Chohan called on the Sindh Chief Secretary (CS) Dr. Mohammed Sohail Rajput here on Monday.
They discussed Local Government (LG) elections in Sindh and by-polls in NA-240 Korangi.
The Provincial Election Commissioner Eijaz Anwar Chohan while informing the Chief Secretary said that the LG polls in Sindh would be held in two phases.
He said that the LG elections in the first phase would be held in Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad and Mirpurkhas divisions on June 26.
Eijaz Anwar Chohan further informed that in the second phase the polls would be held in Karachi and Hyderabad divisions on July 24.
He said that by-polls on NA-240 would be held on June 16.
The Chief Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sohail Rajput said that all facilities would be provided to the Provincial Election Commission for the conduct of fair LG polls.
The Chief Secretary said that CCTV cameras would be installed at highly sensitive declared polling stations.
He also gave assurance to the Provincial Election Commissioner that the provision of security and other arrangements would be ensured.
