Lok Virsa presents Rs 750,000 cheque to Secretary for flood relief fund

ISLAMABAD:The National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) management on Friday handed over a cheque worth

Rs 750,000 to Secretary National Heritage and Culture Division Fareena Mazhar for the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.

The donations which collected during a joint collaborative musical program organized by Lok Virsa and Echo Records, was presented to the secretary here at a ceremony.

Earlier, on arrival Joint Secretary Shahzad Hameed Khan Durrani welcomed Fareena Mazhar along with other senior officers of Lok Virsa.

She visited first ethnological state museum of Pakistan documenting and projecting not only the indigenous folk culture of whole Pakistan but also cultures of other friendly and brotherly countries that shared similarities and influences with the culture of our country.

Later, the the secretary along with senior officials of the Division and Lok Virsa also visited the Pakistan National Monument Museum that presented history, freedom movement, birth and development of Pakistan as a progressive state.

She took keen interest in various three-dimensional creative displays at both museum and appreciated the efforts of Lok Virsa in preserving the cultural and historical heritage of Pakistan in such a professional and interactive manner.
