Maintenance,repairing work in city to be monitored through mobile apps

Lahore: A meeting of the Engineering Wing of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) was held under the chairmanship of DG LDA Tahir Farooq here on Tuesday. During the meeting, progress of the Maintenance and Repair (MandR) wing of both TEPA and LDA was discussed. DG LDA Tahir Farooq announced that all MandR tasks will be digitally monitored and mapped through mobile apps and GIS-based systems. He emphasized that the mobile app for monitoring MandR tasks is in its final stages of development. The app will allow users to upload and monitor images and surveys related to tasks like patchwork, pothole filling, and other maintenance activities. As part of the pilot project, TEPA and LDA will begin work in one block in each of the four zones. The DG LDA directed the initiation of patchwork and other maintenance activities in one block each in Johar Town, Garden Town, Allama Iqbal Town, and Sabzazar. e completed, the same work will be extended to other blocks. The meeting also included a briefing on the comprehensive planning of MandR tasks using digital monitoring tools. Further discussions covered the ongoing projects in the provincial capital, with special emphasis on sustainable development and urban regeneration efforts. The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed, Chief Engineer TEPA Iqrar Hussain, Director PandD, as well as engineering officials from both TEPA and LDA.
