Mepco safety team inspects THQ hospital Burewala


Burewala: A Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) safety team inspected the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Burewala to review fire safety arrangements and emergency preparedness in various medical wards.



The inspection was conducted on the directions of Chief Engineer Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) and Superintendent Engineer Vehari Circle Azmat Ali Khan. Safety Inspector (HSEQ) Mepco Headquarters Multan Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, along with Rescue 1122 officials, Medical Superintendent Dr Imran Bhatti and DMS Dr Shafiq and MC Rep Muhammad Shahid Gujjar visited different sections of the hospital.



The team checked fire hydrant plants, fire extinguishers, fire alarms, the emergency evacuation plan and designated emergency exits. Practical testing of fire hydrants and alarms was also carried out in the ICU, Children Ward, Gynaecology Ward, Nursery and Cardiology Ward.



The team also reviewed arrangements for the safe and timely evacuation of patients, hospital staff and visitors in case of a fire emergency.



The officials stressed that fire safety systems in sensitive institutions such as hospitals must remain fully operational at all times. The inspection was aimed at further improving emergency preparedness and preventing possible loss of life and property in case of a fire.
