Lahore:Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari on Monday questioned the authenticity of protest videos circulated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claiming that old and unrelated footage is being presented as visuals of protests in Peshawar and Islamabad.
In a statement, she said an old video of a boiler in Jamshoro is being linked to the Peshawar protest, while Indian citizen Ashok Swain has attributed footage of a protest at Jantar Mantar to the Islamabad demonstration.
Criticising the PTI leadership, Azma Bokhari remarked, “Fake leadership, fake revolution, fake protest! Next time, hold a rally on the moon and use a video from NASA.”
She said a situation in which terrorists feel safe under the protection of a provincial government, police remain unarmed and citizens are left at the mercy of terrorists amounts to a state of emergency.
The provincial information minister also criticised the attitude of a chief minister towards the national anthem and national flag, saying such conduct deserves condemnation.
Questioning the performance of the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, she asked what the party has delivered to the province during its 13 years in power.
She said the treatment of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the PTI government is evident to everyone.
