Lahore: Punjab Minister for Communications and Works (CandW) Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth reviewed ongoing beautification, asphalt, lighting, lane marking, and painting works on Lahore’s Ring Road during a meeting held here on Wednesday.
CandW Secretary Suhail Ashraf, Additional Secretary, and officers of the Ring Road Authority attended the meeting and briefed the minister on progress achieved so far. Around 120 truckloads of solid waste have been removed from key points, while damaged road sections have been fully repaired. Work is underway to enhance the aesthetics of entry and exit points, as well as service roads, and installation of I-Gates for commuter convenience is progressing rapidly.
For traveler safety, awareness signboards are being installed uniformly, and all faulty lights have been activated to ensure safe night-time travel. In coordination with Ring Road Police, a daily reporting system has been initiated to monitor lighting and other operational matters.
The minister directed the formation of a Joint Task Force to oversee all beautification and maintenance activities. Asphalt is being laid at specified temperatures for damaged sections, and plans for painting village walls and other visible areas have been finalized. Consistency in lane marking and signage has also been emphasized.
Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth said that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, the beautification of Ring Road will meet the highest quality standards.
