Haripur: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of National Assembly Babar Nawaz Khan on Monday inaugurated beautification works at the Main Chowk Market and pavement projects for adjoining streets in Khalabat Township.
The projects would be completed under the supervision of the Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company Limited.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by members of the business community and local residents, who warmly welcomed Babar Nawaz Khan. The ceremony later turned into a public gathering.
Addressing the gathering, Babar Nawaz Khan said that he was committed to serving the people of Haripur and practical measures were being taken to fulfil the promises made during the elections. He said that the beautification project would transform Main Chowk Market into a modern marketplace and improve its overall appearance and facilities.
The MNA said that work was also underway on several major development projects in Haripur, including a Daanish School, a modern hospital, Chakkai Bridge, Padhana Grid Station and provision of plots to affectees of Tarbela Dam, besides other mega projects.
He said that restoration work on gas pipelines in Khalabat Township would begin next month, which would help address low gas pressure issues during the winter season.
Babar Nawaz Khan said that measures were also being taken to improve the electricity supply system through the provision of new feeders, transformers and electricity poles, with the aim of ensuring uninterrupted power supply to residents.
