Islamabad:Former Information Secretary of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Mushtaq Ahmad Butt has paid tribute to Kashmiri leader Shabir Ahmad Shah for his long struggle for the right to self-determination.
In a statement issued here, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt said Shabir Ahmad Shah began his struggle at the age of 13 and had spent decades in Indian prisons, sacrificing his childhood, adolescence and youth while remaining firm in his convictions.
He urged the people of Kashmir to remember those who had sacrificed the most precious years of their lives for the future of their homeland.
He said some sacrifices went beyond words and became part of history, adding that imprisonment could restrict physical freedom but could not weaken a person’s convictions or erase the legacy of sacrifice.
Mushtaq Ahmad Butt also paid tribute to Shabir Ahmad Shah and other Kashmiri prisoners of conscience, praising their courage, resilience and steadfastness.
Expressing pride in the Kashmiri leader, he reaffirmed his respect for Shah’s commitment to the cause he believes in.
