Kohat: Police said the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Gumbat Police Station when two groups, identified as the Amjad Afridi and Qaisar groups, exchanged fire.
Following the incident, police teams reached the area, collected forensic evidence, and registered a case against around 20 nominated suspects. Nine of them have been arrested, while raids are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
Police also rejected reports linking the incident to the group of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Law Minister Aftab Alam, saying the reports were contrary to the facts established so far.
The injured persons were shifted to hospital for treatment immediately after the incident.
Police urged the public and media to verify information from official sources before sharing reports about sensitive incidents, saying efforts were continuing to arrest all nominated suspects.
