No compromise to be made on timely completion of ongoing projects: Babar

Quetta: Secretary of Communications and Works (CandW) Babar Khan said that no compromise would be made on the timely completion, construction quality of ongoing projects, effective supervision of key development projects are currently underway in the province.



He said that furthermore, strict action would be taken against officers found negligent in their duties or responsible for delays in the projects.



He said this while presiding over a meeting to review progress on the “Fortification of Police Stations” projects.



Chief Engineers from all six zones, AIG Development Ahmed Sultan, Superintending Engineers, and District Executive Engineers participated in the meeting via Zoom.



During the meeting, engineers from various districts provided detailed briefings on the progress of the 83 “Fortification of Police Stations” projects in their respective areas and apprised the chair of the financial and technical issues facing the projects.



Secretary Babar Khan directed that no delays would be tolerated in the completion of these critical projects.



He remarked that time is short and challenges are significant; therefore, all engineers must ensure that the timely completion of these projects remains the department’s top priority.



He further instructed that all technical issues hindering the projects be resolved immediately.



Addressing the Executive Engineers, Buildings, the Secretary emphasized that the projects must be completed within the stipulated timeframe at all costs, warning that failure to do so would result in strict action against the concerned officials.



He reiterated that no compromise would be made on the quality of the projects.



Secretary Babar Khan directed the Chief Engineers and Superintending Engineers.to personally visit the project sites regularly and submit progress reports every two weeks, these reports should also identify any technical issues so that the pace of the projects is not affected and work continues without interruption.
