Murree: A one-day workshop on basic Civil Defence training, including fire-fighting and first aid, was held at the District Election Commissioner’s Office in Musyari, Murree, on Monday.
The workshop was organised under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Shirazi to ensure timely and effective assistance in emergency situations.
Raja Sadaf, in-charge of Civil Defence Murree, said participants received both practical and theoretical training in basic fire-fighting and first-aid techniques, including CPR, bleeding control and other emergency medical procedures.
He said Civil Defence regularly ‘conducts such workshops for the public and employees of various institutions’. Since his posting in Murree, he had also provided training at Kohsar University, educational institutions and government schools to impart basic safety awareness to as many people as possible.
He said the training aimed to equip citizens with knowledge on how to provide immediate help in accidents, fires or other emergencies. Timely first aid and correct fire-fighting measures, he noted, could save lives and prevent major damage.
Raja Sadaf added that, following the Deputy Commissioner’s instructions, Civil Defence training had now been extended to schools and colleges across the district to prepare young people and the general public to handle emergency situations effectively.
