Lahore: The Punjab Authority for Cleanliness has prepared the complete organizational structure of the authority and its subordinate agencies to make the sanitation system effective across the province.
All solid waste management companies in the province, including Lahore, have been given a deadline to completely deactivate them by January 31, 2026.
According to sources, the Punjab Authority for Clean Water and the agencies established in 41 districts of the province will be formally activated from February 1, 2026, while the solid waste agencies will be handed over to the deputy commissioners on the same day.
Under the organizational structure, the seat of Director General has been activated in the Punjab Authority for Clean Water, while 3 Additional DGs, 17 Directors, 16 Deputy Directors and 38 Assistant Directors will be appointed.
Similarly, an organizational structure has also been formed for 41 agencies under the Punjab Authority across the province, in which 41 Managing Directors, 41 Deputy Directors, 205 Assistant Directors and 205 Tehsil Managers will be appointed. As many as 2189 Field Monitoring Officers and 41 Monitoring Officers will also be appointed as non-corporate staff.
Regarding administrative matters, it has been decided that the officials of the Clean Punjab Authority will be under the Secretary Local Government Punjab, while those responsible for solid waste in the districts will work under the Deputy Commissioners.
Under the financial powers, the budget of the authority will be approved by the Secretary Local Government Punjab, while the annual budget of the district agencies will be passed with the approval of the concerned Deputy Commissioners.
According to the officials, the implementation of the new system will make sanitation arrangements across the province more effective, transparent and coordinated.
