Multan: A man was killed while another sustained injuries after a wall collapsed near Shop No. 71 at the new vegetable market on Wednesday. According to Rescue 1122 officials, an emergency call was received reporting that two people were trapped under the debris of a collapsed wall at vegetable market.
People present at the scene said that an electricity cable had been tied to a wall erected above the shop as a curtain/shade. The wall reportedly collapsed after the cable got caught in a passing truck, affecting two people.
As a result, a 70-year-old unidentified man died on the spot, while 37-year-old Zulfiqar, son of Pir Bakhsh, sustained injuries.
Rescue personnel provided first aid to the injured man and shifted him to Nishtar hospital for further treatment.
Police also reached the scene. After completing legal formalities, the body of the deceased was shifted to Nishtar hospital.
