Kohat: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohat, Muhammad Nawaz, on Wednesday chaired an important meeting to review measures for the prevention and control of dengue virus in the district.
During the meeting, officials briefed the DC on ongoing efforts aimed at eliminating dengue and preventing its spread. The participants also informed the meeting about the medicines, equipment and machinery currently available and being utilized for anti-dengue operations.
Speaking on the occasion, Nawaz directed all concerned departments to intensify public awareness activities and ensure effective preventive measures across the district.
He instructed authorities to display awareness banners regarding dengue prevention at mosques, union councils and government offices. He also directed the relevant departments to ensure the cleaning of water tanks at the earliest to eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites.
He further instructed the Education Department to educate students about dengue prevention during morning assemblies in schools. He also directed assistant commissioners to launch and supervise awareness campaigns in their respective areas to inform the public about precautionary measures against the disease.
He also appealed to the people of Kohat to cooperate with the Health Department’s teams so that collective efforts could help eradicate dengue virus and protect public health in the district.
