Over 8,600 candidates take entry test in SU

District


Hyderabad: The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, on Sunday completed the first phase of the pre-entry test for admission to bachelors degree programmes for the new academic year 2027.



The SU’s spokesman Nadir Mugheri informed that a total of 8,676 male and female candidates from various districts of Sindh appeared in the first phase of the test. He added that comprehensive arrangements were made for the convenience of the candidates, along with strict security measures at the test venues.



Speaking at a press briefing, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri said that the university had its own testing centre, which had been conducting entry tests with the utmost transparency and complete confidentiality for several years.



He added that the results were also announced on the same day. The VC said that the test was conducted in two phases to facilitate candidates and improve arrangements.



In the first phase, candidates from distant districts were given the opportunity to appear in the test, while candidates from nearby districts were included in the second phase, he added.



The VC informed that a total of 22,511 candidates had applied online for both phases of the test, including 16,237 male and 6,274 female candidates.



He said that 8,676 candidates appeared in the first phase. Earlier, the Vice Chancellor accompanied by the Pro Vice Chancellors, visited different blocks and reviewed the ongoing test process. Deans of various faculties also supervised the examination process and visited the blocks. The test started at 10 am and continued for 90 minutes.
