Mirpur:Tariq Mahmood Butt, a UK-based leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, has congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on receiving the United Nations Habitat Scroll of Honour Award in Oman.
In a felicitation message released to the media on Monday, Butt described the international recognition for the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ (Own Roof, Own Home) housing initiative as an acknowledgment of the Punjab government’s efforts to promote affordable housing and improve living standards. He attributed the initiative to the people-centred policies and leadership vision of PML-N President and former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Butt said the housing programme was an important step towards enabling ordinary citizens to access dignified and affordable homes. He added that the UN recognition reflected international appreciation of the Punjab government’s welfare-oriented initiatives and commitment to improving people’s quality of life.
The PML-N leader expressed his best wishes for Maryam Nawaz Sharif and hoped she would continue pursuing public welfare and development initiatives with dedication, particularly those aimed at improving living conditions and promoting prosperity across Punjab.
