Hyderabad:Police in its continued drive against narcotics and criminals on Wednesday arrested drug peddlers and raw material suppliers, recovered mainpuri from their possession.

The Station House officer (SHO) Hatri police station Inspector Muhammad Aslam Abro along with his staff acting on a tip-off arrested three drug peddlers namely Shujait Ansari, Syed Talha and Faizyab and recovered 80kg mainpuri raw material and 200 packets of mainpuri from their possession.

In another drive police arrested an accused Waheed Gopang and recovered 2 kg marijuana from his possession.

Hyderabad:Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Shehryar Gul Memon visited the Mother and Child Healthcare Center on Wednesday.

During visit Deputy Commissioner instructed officers of the Health Department a desk should be setup in Health Care Center to administer anti-polio campaign.

District Health Officer Dr. Asadullah Dahri, Focal Person for Polio Dr. Allah Bakhsh Rajpar, Dr. Ali Akbar Sial and others were present were present on the spot.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Shehryar Gul Memon visited Daur city and inspected the cleanliness and other arrangements.

During visit Deputy Commissioner instructed that the cleanliness situation in the city should be improved while ensuring the supply of drinking water to the citizens.

Assistant Commissioner Daur Hassan Zafar, Mukhtiarkar Daur Muhammad Ali Jamali and other officers were also present on the occasion.

Gilgit:Karakoram International University (KIU) and the University of Sunderland UK have agreed to collaborate on Transnational Education (TNE).

According to KIU's Public Relations Department this decision was reached during a meeting between KIU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah and Dr. James Scott, Academic Director for Transnational Education at the University of Sunderland, UK.

The meeting focused on launching student exchange programs, enhancing research collaboration and creating scholarship opportunities for KIU students.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah emphasized the importance of academic cooperation and international partnerships to benefit students and enhance the global standing of the university.

Roots Millennium System representative Walid Mushtaq was also present and expressed interest in collaborating with KIU to promote quality education and research in Gilgit-Baltistan.

During the meeting it was decided that KIU and the University of Sunderland will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate various academic and research activities, including student exchange programs. Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah also presented his book to the delegates during the meeting.

Rawalpindi:Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Rawalpindi Kashif Zulfiqar here on Tuesday night made a surprise visit to Cantt and R.A.Bazar police stations.

The SSP reviewed the police station buildings, front desks, records, and lock-ups to ensure the provision of all possible resources to police stations.

DSP Cantt and SHOs briefed the SSP Operation about the performance of the police stations.

The SSP also inspected the facilities being provided to the public and directed that merit and justice must be provided to the people.

Multan:The 42nd Mid-Career Management Course delegation visited the offices of the Commissioner Multan Division and the Regional Police Office (RPO) to gain insights into regional governance, policing, and development initiatives.

The delegation was welcomed by Commissioner Aamir Karim and RPO Captain (Retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, who provided detailed briefings on their respective domains.

During the meeting at the Commissioner's Office, Aamir Karim addressed questions about the challenges facing Multan Division, including encroachments, illegal parking stands, wall chalking, land mafias, price gouging, and hoarding. He emphasized the significance of cultural preservation and highlighted steps being taken to support artists, poets, and writers through financial assistance policies. The Commissioner underscored the importance of transparency and efficient service delivery, stressing that corruption must be eradicated to enhance public trust.

Karim shared ongoing efforts to resolve critical issues, such as ensuring clean drinking water access through the activation of water filtration plants and addressing sewerage system problems, which are key to Multan's development. He also highlighted the success of the Nishtar-II project in providing quality healthcare and mentioned the upcoming completion of the Agri Mall project to boost local agriculture. Additionally, the Commissioner reiterated his commitment to public outreach, stating that public offices, including the Commissioner's Office, remain accessible to citizens for grievance redressal.

At the RPO's Office, Captain (Retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry briefed the delegation on the operational capabilities and achievements of Multan Region Police, covering Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, and Lodhran districts. He outlined how the police are adapting to modern demands through professional training and innovative practices. The RPO highlighted the successful dismantling of criminal gangs, recovery of stolen goods worth millions, and the public's positive reception to initiatives such as service centers, protection centers, and driving schools.

The delegation was informed about the increasing number of service centers across the region, designed to enhance public access to police services. Sohail Chaudhry emphasized the commitment to community-centric policing and ensuring safety through efficient resource utilization. Delegation members posed questions about various policing strategies, all of which were addressed comprehensively.

Both meetings concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and commemorative shields between the officials and the delegation, marking a gesture of mutual respect and appreciation for their contributions to public service.

Sanghar: District Chairman Sanghar, Syed Riaz Shah Khurasani, emphasized the need to revive sports activities to engage the youth and divert them from unhealthy habits.

He expressed these views at the inaugural ceremony of the Sanghar Premier League Cricket Tournament held at Sanghar Stadium.

Addressing the event, Syed Riaz Shah stated, "If we want to see hospitals deserted, we need to ensure our sports grounds are bustling with activity. In this modern era, our youth are increasingly distracted by mobile phones and harmful substances."

Promoting sports is crucial to keeping youth physically healthy and steering them towards productive activities,he added.

He assured his full support to the youth of Sanghar in the domain of sports and praised Abdul Rehman Khaskheli, the patron of Al-Rehman Cricket Club, for his consistent contributions to sports activities.

He acknowledged the efforts behind organizing a prestigious tournament like the Sanghar Premier League and committed to resolving all issues related to Sanghar Stadium on a priority basis.

The event also featured an enthusiastic welcome for the District Chairman by the league organizers, led by Abdul Rehman Khaskheli, who briefed him on the stadium's challenges. Syed Riaz Shah inaugurated the league by interacting with the players and participating in a batting session.
