Beijing: Pakistan’s acclaimed action film The Legend of Maula Jatt has won two prestigious ‘Iron Man’ awards at the 7th Jackie Chan International Action Film Week, further strengthening the cultural and cinematic ties between Pakistan and China.
The awards were announced at the closing ceremony held a couple of days ago. The Pakistani blockbuster received honours for Best Action Art Direction and Best Creative Team.
The Legend of Maula Jatt was also the first winner to take the stage at this year’s gala, receiving the opening award of the evening.
The film’s director Bilal Lashari and distributor Nadeem Mandviwalla received the awards on behalf of the production team.
The recognition comes as Pakistan and China mark 75 years of diplomatic relations, adding further significance to the film’s success on the Chinese cultural stage. Distributed in China under a revenue-sharing model, The Legend of Maula Jatt has emerged as a notable example of growing cinematic cooperation between the two countries.
The two awards highlight the international appreciation for the film’s distinctive action design, artistic direction and creative execution, while also underscoring the potential for greater collaboration and exchange between the Pakistani and Chinese film industries.
