ATTOCK:Assistant Director Passports Attock Hafiz Abdul Nasir said that the government has introduced several modern initiatives to make the issuance and renewal of passports more convenient, transparent and accessible for citizens, including e-passports, online fee payment, online renewal and home delivery services.
In a statement here on Thursday, he said that citizens could now renew their passports through NADRA centres across the country. However, he clarified that no amendments or corrections to passport records could be made at these centres.
He said that the Regional Passport Office Attock was providing services to more than 200 citizens daily, while its staff remained committed to ensuring efficient and timely service delivery during official working days from Monday to Friday.
Hafiz Abdul Nasir said that citizens could now pay passport fees online through a QR code without visiting banks, saving valuable time and ensuring greater transparency in the payment process. He added that the prescribed fee must be paid within 72 hours after completion of the relevant passport application process.
He further said that citizens could also apply for passport renewal from their homes through the official online portal, eliminating the need for unnecessary visits to passport offices.
The assistant director said that modern e-passports equipped with advanced security features had been introduced to meet international standards. According to him, the normal fee for a five-year e-passport was Rs 9,000, while the urgent fee was Rs 15,000. Similarly, the normal fee for a ten-year e-passport was Rs 13,500, while the urgent fee was Rs 22,500.
He said that a home delivery facility was also available for an additional charge of Rs 500, enabling citizens to receive their passports at their doorsteps.
Hafiz Abdul Nasir urged citizens to apply for passport renewal well before the expiry of their existing passports to avoid inconvenience.
He also advised the public to avoid unauthorized agents and touts and use only official and authorized channels for passport-related services.
