Lahore: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore has launched its largest-ever winter flowering campaign, with 13,853 flower beds prepared across parks and greenbelts of the provincial capital, Director General PHA Lahore Ahmad Usman Javed said on Friday.
He said that 13,853 flower beds had been prepared this year, compared to 9,505 beds last year, marking a significant expansion in the winter flowering campaign.
The MD said that 4,742,000 flower seeds had been provided to the horticulture wings of eight zones and 11 project directors for the current season. The quantity of seeds is 31.8 percent higher than that provided last year, he added.
Ahmad Usman Javed said that flower plants had been prepared at PHA nurseries and their transplantation to flower beds had already begun to ensure timely and uniform blooming during the winter season.
He said the PHA was committed to making Lahore’s parks and greenbelts more beautiful and colourful during winter and providing citizens with a pleasant and healthy environment.
He said instructions had been issued to all eight zones and 11 project directors to complete the plantation and related horticultural activities within the stipulated time to ensure the best possible flowering display across the city.
