Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has directed its officials to ensure timely resolution of public complaints, particularly those related to clean drinking water and water supply facilities.

The directives were issued during a review meeting chaired by Additional Secretary PHED Jahangir Azam Wazir at the department’s committee room to assess complaints received over the past two weeks and progress on their resolution.

Relevant departmental officers and focal persons briefed the meeting on complaints concerning their respective sections, measures taken to address them, and cases awaiting resolution.

Jahangir Azam Wazir directed the concerned officials to address public grievances on a priority basis and resolve every complaint within the prescribed timeframe without unnecessary delays.

He stressed that prompt redressal of public complaints was among the department’s key priorities, particularly where citizens faced problems involving drinking water supplies and related services.

The additional secretary also ordered regular monitoring of the complaint-handling process and directed officials to take immediate steps to clear pending cases.

He instructed focal persons to keep complaint records updated and submit timely reports detailing the action taken on each case.

Emphasising coordination and effective monitoring, he said timely action was essential to improve public service delivery and ensure relief for citizens.
