PMML president seeks inquiry into Peshawar school roof collapse

Lahore

LAHORE:Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) President Khalid Masood Sindhu has expressed grief over the deaths of students in a school roof collapse in Peshawar, demanding a transparent inquiry and strict action against those responsible.

In a statement on Thursday, he said the tragic incident had raised serious questions about negligence and the safety of educational institutions. He called for structural audits of school buildings across the country to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Sindhu said those responsible for putting children’s lives at risk must not escape accountability. The government should determine who had authorised the school to operate in the building and whether the required safety standards had been fulfilled, he added.
