Sialkot: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested an accused who made a false call of robbery at police emergency services 15, a release of the police said. Sambrial Police received a call through emergency helpline 15 reporting that a citizen had allegedly been robbed at gunpoint and his cash and mobile phones were snatched. Upon receiving the information, a police team immediately reached the scene and began an investigation into the matter. Finding the evidence and circumstances at the scene suspicious, police questioned the caller in detail. Unable to withstand the questioning, he eventually confessed that no robbery had actually taken place. According to the initial investigation, the caller was working as a driver for a logistics company and was carrying company funds entrusted to him. Allegedly intending to misappropriate the money, he fabricated a fake robbery story and made a false report to emergency helpline 15. The fabricated incident was exposed and the suspect was arrested.
