Rawalpindi: An Additional District and Sessions Court has formally framed charges against a mother and her son in the Dhamyal murder case and summoned prosecution witnesses for October 3.
The accused, Shumaila Bibi and her son Ali Hassan, appeared before the court on Monday to face charges in connection with the death of Saira Bibi, who was allegedly beaten and strangled following accusations of misconduct.
According to police, one of the suspects allegedly confessed to the crime during physical remand and subsequently led investigators to the recovery of a wooden stick believed to have been used in the killing.
The case was registered on September 8 last year on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Zeeshan, under Sections 302, 34 and 311 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
With the charges now formally framed, the court has summoned the prosecution witnesses to appear on October 3, paving the way for the next stage of proceedings.
