Bourewala: A police constable was injured after being attacked by dozens of alleged drug peddlers during a raid conducted within the jurisdiction of Sahuka Police Station. The assailants reportedly pelted stones at the police party, leaving Constable wounded.
The injured constable,Ghulam Rasool, was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment. No arrests had been made by the time of filing this report.
According to an FIR registered on the complaint of the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sahuka Police Station, the police booked several suspects, including Bilal alias Bilo, Lal Shah son of Masood, Ghulam Farid son of Muhammad Ameen, Altaf Shah son of Maqsood, Mudassar son of Altaf, Nausheen, Rukaiya, and other unidentified individuals.
The accused allegedly obstructed official duty, attacked the police party by pelting stones, and snatched a mobile phone and cash amounting to Rs21,000 from the injured constable.
Police recovered 10 litres of liquor from the spot,while further investigation was under way.
