Quetta: Commandant Police Training College (PTC) Shahzad Akbar on Tuesday said that police personnel are being provided latest training to curb terrorist activities in the province.
He also pressed his determination that the process of developing the Police Training College on modern lines would continue in the future as well.
The quality of policing in the province refers to a policing system that is not limited to law enforcement alone but is based on professionalism, transparency, accountability and public service.
Significant improvements have been made in the residential and basic facilities for former Levies personnel belonging to different districts of Balochistan in the Police Training College (PTC) Quetta managed by Balochistan Police, due to which the training environment has been made more effective and convenient, he said.
He mentioned that currently, a total of 772 former Levies personnel are benefiting from training and accommodation facilities at the Police Training College Quetta.
The best-level training of former Levies personnel who have been merged from B Area to A Area in Balochistan has started from January 1, 2026, this training program would be of three months.
During the training, the youth are given physical training, use of weapons, marksmanship, and skills to successfully would take action against terrorists.
While its main objective is to protect the lives and property of the people equally in the districts of all the provinces, effectively prevent crimes, and promote trust between the police and the public.
Under the professional training of the Balochistan Police, personnel are being trained on modern lines, in which special importance is being given to improving investigative skills and legal awareness to promote people-friendly policing, citizens are treated with dignity, impartiality and fairness, while intelligence-based policing and community participation are also being promoted for non-discriminatory law enforcement and prevention of crimes under the uniform rule of law.
Commandant PTC said that to provide a better and quality training environment to the personnel under training during training, the residential blocks have been equipped with modern facilities so that the personnel could get comfortable and safe accommodation.
He said that there are facilities for providing clean and quality food in the existing and another newly constructed mess hall for the personnel, where food quality and discipline have been ensured according to the principles of hygiene.
He further said that a modern futsal ground has been established to promote physical fitness and healthy activities of the personnel, while the parade ground has been made better and safer according to the training requirements so that there is no problem in practical training.
In addition, fountains have also been installed to make the overall environment of the hostels and grounds pleasant and better, which has increased the cleanliness and beauty of the environment.
Commandant Police Training College Shahzad Akbar said that the main objective of all these measures is to improve the quality of life of former Levies personnel and make their professional training more effective, so that after joining the Balochistan Police regularly, they could better fulfill their responsibilities in law enforcement, public service and maintenance of law and order.
