Muzafargarh: Police in Muzaffargarh traced a blind murder case and arrested the prime suspect, who was found to be the victim’s husband.
According to police sources, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed, near Adda Riazabad in Chak No. 618 TDA. The accused, identified as Sajjad Sheikh, allegedly strangled his wife, Razia Bibi, to death and later concealed her body in a nearby cotton field.
Police said the accused initially inflicted knife injuries on himself and reported that his wife had attacked him before fleeing. However, the following day, police recovered the body of the deceased woman from a cotton field, raising suspicions about his account.
A case was registered on the complaint of the deceased’s brother, Muhammad Ramzan. Following a detailed investigation, police arrested the accused.
During interrogation, Sajjad Sheikh reportedly confessed to the crime. Investigators further revealed that he had developed relations with another woman and intended to contract a second marriage. Frequent domestic disputes had reportedly arisen between the couple, and the accused allegedly murdered his wife to remove what he perceived as an obstacle to his planned second marriage.
