Islamabad:Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry on Thursday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was undermining its own political standing by adopting non-political activities referring the resignation of its members from National Assembly sub-committees.
Speaking to a private television channel, Chaudhry said PTI workers and leaders were damaging the party by moving away from the political path.
He stressed that political and national issues should be resolved through negotiations rather than violence that create difficulties for others.
Chaudhry said the government preferred to avoid confrontation, noting that both sides were citizens of the same country and that no one would benefit from this.
Responding to a question, he said elected representatives were already exercising their constitutional rights. However, he added that attempts to putting pressure on the government for accepting demands based on wishes would not be entertained.
