RAWALPINDI:Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on the directives of Director General, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa here on Tuesday carried out an operation against unauthorized/illegal commercial and residential buildings and sealed a residential building and two shops on Gulraiz Road near Orisa Dental College.
According to a RDA spokesman, the Enforcement Squad of RDA including Deputy Director Building Control, Building Superintendent, Building Inspectors and others carried out an operation under section 39 of the Punjab Development of Cities (PDC) Act 1976 against illegal commercial and residential construction and took action against the rules violators.
The spokesman informed that earlier, notices were also issued to the owner of the property namely Nadeem who had constructed the shops and a house violating approved building plans.
He said that the DG had directed the Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing to take strict action against encroachments, illegal and unauthorized constructions and commercial activities without any discrimination.
He said the DG had also directed the Building Control Wing to conduct a survey to identify illegal residential and commercial buildings.
He warned the citizens not to violate the rules and remove encroachments if any on their own to avoid any legal action.
