Quetta: Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on Thursday that politics and journalism are mutually supportive fields, and that a strong, responsible media plays a pivotal role in making citizens aware of their rights and responsibilities within society.
He said that we have always held media professionals associated with print, electronic, and social media in high regard, and we have maintained cordial relations with the journalistic community for decades.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Journalists Association (PJA), Balochistan, led by its President, Muhammad Hanif Jamali.
The delegation included Muhammad Shahid Magsi, Huma Baloch, Samira Rajput, Mehwish, Firdous, Faria Batool, Ms Noreen, Ms Dunya, Jahanzaib, Akram, Arun Kumar, Muhammad Shahzad, Feroz Jamali, and Muhammad Zafar Jamali.
On this occasion, the Governor remarked that the media is a vital pillar of the state and that professional journalists work hard to uphold their professional standards and dignity.
He noted that responsible and independent journalism plays a crucial role in highlighting public issues, holding institutions accountable, and strengthening the bond between the public and government bodies.
Governor Mandokhail noted that, from day one, he has kept the doors of the Governor House open to the general public, including media personnel.
He added that the issues and professional needs of journalists have always been prioritized, and that all possible cooperation with them would continue. Finally, Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail cut a cake to mark the 12th founding anniversary of the Pakistan Journalists Association.
