Mansehra: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has directed the relevant departments and construction firms to accelerate work on development projects being executed under a Rs1.5 billion special package for NA-14.
Reviewing progress on the projects at the Circuit House in Mansehra, the minister said provision of basic facilities and improvement of the people’s standard of living remained the government’s top priority.
Officials of the Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company Limited briefed Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on the progress and pace of work on the ongoing schemes. Representatives of construction firms also attended the meeting.
The minister was informed that around 800 development schemes were being executed under the special package, covering electricity supply, sewerage systems, construction and rehabilitation of link roads, street paving and other basic facilities.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said negligence or delay in the projects would not be tolerated, stressing that a zero-tolerance policy would be followed regarding construction quality and standards.
He directed the concerned officials and contractors to speed up work, particularly in the upper areas, so that the projects could be completed before the onset of winter and their benefits delivered to the public at the earliest.
