Sanitation fee bills issued across Punjab

Lahore

Lahore: The Excise Department has started issuing sanitation fee bills to owners of around five million commercial and residential properties in urban areas across Punjab under the ‘Suthra Punjab’ (Clean Punjab) project.

The department has been assigned billing responsibility for the project, with collection of sanitation fees commencing from Thursday (Oct 1, 2026). Property owners are required to pay the six-month sanitation fee within 60 days of receiving the bill, and a penalty will be imposed for late payments.

According to Excise Department officials, data integration between the Suthra Punjab initiative and the department has been completed. Bills are being printed on the basis of data provided by the Urban Unit and dispatched to respective regions, while inspectors in relevant circles are responsible for delivering them to property owners.

The government expects to collect around Rs40 billion annually from the five million urban properties.
