ISLAMABAD: The demand for a variety of seasonal flowering saplings, fruits, and ornamental, indoor and outdoor plants has gone up with the advent of the spring season.
A large number of residents of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are visiting the nurseries to purchase different plants to adore their homes with more greenery.
“The spring season marks the emergence of colourful flowers and a variety of flowers bloom in the spring season as the beauty of this season brought joy and happiness and gave a soothing and refreshing environment to the people,” said a buyer at one of the nurseries at Sector H-9.
Another nursery owner Rafaqat Awan told reporter on Thursday that several nature-loving customers were purchasing different plants and seasonal flower saplings.
The most important flowers in the spring season were Petunia, Pansy, Antirrhinum, Cosmos, Chrysanthemums, Lilies, Tulips etc, he added.
The nursery owner further said that customers were admiring various plants, but unfortunately it was observed that their buying power has been reduced due to the rising inflation in the country.
He further said that the fluctuating dollar exchange rate has also badly affected the nursery business because the buying of imported seeds and bulbs of seasonal flowers was touching the skies.
A customer namely Fahad Khan resident of Satellite Town Rawalpindi told that he was buying vegetable saplings for growing an organic kitchen garden at his house and some English roses, seasonal saplings and fruit plants.
