Lahore: Commissioner Lahore Nouman Yousuf visited various areas of Data Ganj Bakhsh Town to review anti-dengue activities and field surveillance, here on Wednesday.
He visited the streets of Sanda and Union Council 79 and inspected the performance and records of anti-dengue surveillance teams. District Health Officers briefed him on ongoing preventive measures and field activities.
The briefing revealed that two dengue-positive cases had been reported in Data Ganj Bakhsh Town since January 2026. The field teams were also placing warning stickers on houses and shops where dengue larvae were detected.
Commissioner Nouman Yousuf directed officials to intensify surveillance, saying September and October were the most critical months for dengue prevention and no negligence would be tolerated. He instructed anti-dengue teams to remain active in the field and distribute pamphlets carrying precautionary measures and preventive instructions among households. He also ordered 100 percent checking of all hotspots based on their potential, larval growth and previous history.
The commissioner further directed officials to ensure complete coverage of miscellaneous areas and locations, besides 100 percent clearance of open plots, bushes and graveyards. He ordered daily physical verification of the performance of indoor and outdoor dengue surveillance teams.
Appealing to citizens, Commissioner Nouman Yousuf said dengue larvae were being found more frequently inside homes and urged residents to fully cooperate with anti-dengue teams visiting households.
