Lahore: Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab Sohail Shaukat Butt has said that the Punjab government was ensuring timely disbursement of Himmat Card stipends across the province during the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27.
Under the initiative, a total amount of Rs1.155 billion was being distributed among 110,000 deserving beneficiaries. The beneficiaries include Himmat Card holders, particularly persons with disabilities, as well as students enrolled in the Special Education Department.
In a statement, the minister said that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, the government was committed to providing financial protection and support to vulnerable and disadvantaged segments of society. ‘The Himmat Card aims to enable persons with disabilities and students of special education to lead dignified and independent lives. Timely financial assistance will help them meet their essential needs and also contribute towards discouraging begging,’ he said.
The minister has directed district officers to ensure that the disbursement process was completed transparently, promptly and without any hindrance, so that the entitled beneficiaries receive their stipends in a timely manner.
